Our History

  • 2012

    Covene is founded in St. Louis, MO offering technical consulting services for Cisco Unified Communications products.

  • 2013

    Building on the momentum of a highly successful initial year, Covene adds Cisco products to the portfolio and becomes an authorized Cisco partner specializing in collaboration.

  • 2014

    Covene releases Covene Cohesion, the first multivendor scheduling solution compatible with Skype for Business, Cisco, Polycom, and Pexip for interoperable video conferencing meeting management.

  • 2015

    Virtualization of video conferencing services continues to make video more affordable for customers and Covene’s revenue from video conferencing collaboration services exceeds the multimillion-dollar threshold.

  • 2016-2017

    Covene launches the Covene MarketPlace enabling customers to order and provision Cisco Webex services within 24 hours of order entry. Covene’s Webex seats under management grows to the thousands.

  • 2018-2019

    Covene Managed Services is launched offering customers full lifecycle management of their collaboration networks. The engineering team continues to grow and Covene expands into a new headquarters in downtown St. Louis.

Mark Turpin is a Principal at Covene. Mark provides direction for the professional services and sales teams, consulting services to select clients, and strategic  evaluation of new technologies and partners for Covene. Mark’s work has included business case modeling & technical engineering for collaboration technologies at clients worldwide.

Mark is a veteran, and member of the Cisco SMB Advisory Board, Tech Data SMB Advisory Board, and PROMO Board of Directors.

Colin O’Brien leads the software development team at Covene, overseeing the creation of business automation and enablement software. Colin's work has included UI design for 3D software systems that automate and control life-saving medical robotics used in cardiac surgery, worked in the defense industry at Boeing, and several years at NASA developing flight software used for the guidance, navigation and control of the International Space Station.

Colin has a B.S. in Computer Science from SUNY Plattsburgh, a M.S. in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis, and M. Engineering Management from Washington University.
